Hens and Chicks

I am so excited to share with you my first card that I have designed from the color palette over at Color Me Beautiful.  I still can't believe that I am on a design team.  How exciting!  The first color combination is gorgeous!

 

The challenge is to use at least three of the colors, so for this one I went with Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry and Wisteria Wonder.  I had recently seen a tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers on telescoping an image, so I decided to give it a try!



This technique looks awesome with big images, so I decided to use the Sweet Floral Background Stamp.  I first sponged on Wisteria Wonder ink and then sponged on Rich Razzleberry ink over the top of it to give it a two-toned look.  After I had it all cut out and assembled, it looked so pretty that I almost didn't put a sentiment on it!  I really love this one though, so I stamped it on vellum cardstock and put glue dots only on the bottom and hid them behind the ribbon so you can't see them.  Here's a little tip to punching out vellum:  Hold a piece of cardstock behind it and punch them both out together.  If you punch it out by itself it tends to tear the edges a little bit.  Can't have that now, can we?!
