After the Storm

Well, today is kind of like the day after the storm for me, so it called for some cardmaking for sure!  Too bad I am on Day 2 of no heat in my house.  They came and "fixed" it yesterday for $400, but it was not working in the wee hours of the night when I woke up to watch the news.  Of course, they can't be here until this afternoon to take another look at it.  Don't they know how difficult it is to stamp (and type!) with numb fingers? :)  Oh, well. If only no heat was the least of my troubles!

The sketch I used today came from The Friday Mashup!
Their challenge was also to mash it up with a rosette.  I love making them but mine never turn out that great!  I keep telling myself I need to buy the rosette die that Stampin' Up! now sells.  Maybe the next time I get a half-price item!  It always seems to make it down to the bottom of my list when I put those orders in. :)

I told you you would be seeing the Festival of Prints DSP stack again, and here it is already!  I just love this little booklet of papers!  When I got it, I wrote the colors on the front so I wouldn't have to look them up each time.  One color they didn't have listed is Bashful Blue, but I think that it is the best light blue to coordinate.  For my rosette, I layered it with two embossed scalloped circles and a snowflake that I spritzed with my homemade Shimmer Spritz.  It is then backed with some Early Espresso tulle.  I know it is big and kind of overpowering, but I love it!  I tried to keep the rest of my card fairly simple so it didn't take away from the rosette.

  1. For having numb fingers you sure created a beauty of a card! I love that DSP also and like you I write the names of the colors on the front of the pack too :) Your rosette with all the details is just gorgeous!

Thanks for playing along with us at The Friday Mashup and I hope you get heat back ASAP!
