Throw Back Thursday...A Day Late!

I know, I know, it's Friday!  Woo hoo for that!  However, I spent a good part of yesterday cleaning and organizing my house, so I didn't have time to get to my Throw Back Thursday!  I finished it up today though. I HAD to finish it today because it is for my mother-in-law's birthday and we are celebrating it tonight!  I used the challenges at Pals Paper Arts and Create with Connie and Mary.

There are two parts to the Throw Back for me...the first part was the stamp set that I chose, Apothecary Art. This poor stamp set has been neglected almost from the time that I purchased it!  I just HAD to have it because it matched the Label Framelits. I just find it so hard to use though!  It worked perfect for this sketch AND my Throw Back Thursday though, so I decided to give it a shot.  The other part that is a Throw Back for me is the Pumpkin Pie. Back when it was first introduced, I was a beginning customer and fell in love with it.  It was a must color in my stamping and scrapping. I loved using it with blues for Talan's scrapbook pages. But then Tangerine Tango, a darker and more vibrant orange came into the Stampin' Up! family.  Ever since then, I have hardly touched Pumpkin Pie. I am down to two sheets of cardstock and I don't think I have purchase a whole pack in 2 years!  So it was time to resurrect poor old Pumpkin Pie!
I stamped the entire image in Baked Brown Sugar and then colored it in with my Aqua Painter and ink from the lid of my ink pads.  I was afraid the color would run and thought about using Black StazOn for the outline of the image so the color wouldn't bleed, but I thought that would be too dark. I wanted more of a rustic look, and that's exactly what I got!  Both panels are on Dimensionals to add some depth. I love having the paper stacks in each of the color families, just to add some subtle pattern to the card.  I thought this one looked kind of like trellis so I stamped some vines on it to kind of tie the whole thing together.  I think these are great fall colors. I can't wait to give this card to my mother-in-law.  She loves receiving my handmade cards and keeps them all. That makes me feel good!
