Sweet Sophia

My cousin's sweet little girl, Sophia, is turning ONE later this month, so I decided to get an early start on her card.  She is ALL girl, dressed to the hills, so I wanted her card to reflect that.  I used the sketch from Retro Sketches this week to get me started.

My good friend and downline Aimee Cretsinger made this darling pink and brown card, which inspired me to use pinks and browns too.  I think they are the best colors for a little girl!   Here is my brown and pink card for Sophia:

Delicate Doilies was one of my favorite new stamp sets from the last catalog.  It makes great background paper!  I love the look of the overlapped doilies.  They are so feminine.  The Victoria Crochet Trim also adds to the girly feel of the card.  I love that Victorian look, but don't usually make cards like this because it really isn't my style!  (A tip to adhere the ribbon to the card is to use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  They are amazing for intricate images and ribbon!) The buttons that I used really surprised me, too.  They are the Naturals Designer Buttons, which I bought to embellish my masculine cards!  Guess it's all in the design of the card as to the look they can take on!
