A DUH Moment

Do you ever have those when you are making cards?  I seem to be having them all the time lately.  I swear I have lost more and more brain cells with every child I have given birth to.  And I only have 3...I don't know how Mrs. Duggar survives!  I'll get to my DUH moment in minute.  The card I made today uses the brand new sketch from Create with Connie and Mary and the color combo from The Paper Players.  It is rare that I do a challenge the same day that it is posted, but I really liked this sketch!

I love these colors and they just scream fall leaves.  I have been going back and forth between fall and Christmas and have done a few Christmas cards in a row, so I guess it was time for a fall card again!
Okay, time for my DUH moment.  I got the background all stamped and assembled, then stamped my leaves, sponged them with ink, scored and drew in the veins, spritzed them with Smooch Spritz and cut them out...by hand.  There is a die for these leaves!  It would have saved me some time if I had used the die.  DUH!  Lucky for me, I don't mind a little bit of cutting and these leaves were really simple to cut out anyway.  After I assembled the leaves onto the card, I added some drops of Crystal Effects to replicate dew drops.  I don't know if that's what it actually looks like, but I still think it looks pretty cool!

Stamp Sets: Curly Cute, Wonderfall
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Cajun Craze, Night of Navy
Tools: Apothecary Accents Framelits, sponges, scoring tool and mat
Accessories: Gold Glow and Silver Smooch Spritz, Crystal Effects, Denim Ribbon
