A New Strategy

I have been really bad about cleaning up my stamping studio lately, so I decide to try out a new strategy today.  From now on, as soon as I finish ONE card, I have to put away all of the supplies I got out and clean up my mess! Before I even take a picture of my card, I MUST put away my ink pads, markers, tools...even my scraps!  I did this and you know what?  It felt so good that I can't wait to make another card!  It's a lot less stressful sitting here in a clean room. Okay, it's not exactly clean...more like "picked up." :)

My card today is for the challenges at retro sketches and The Paper Players
Baja Breeze is retiring at the end of this catalog year and I didn't really think I would miss it too  much until I actually got it out to use it!  It is a nice calm light blue. It has kind of a "dirty" look to it too, which I like for vintage or old-world style cards.  I haven't used it in a while and it kind of got me teary just thinking about it leaving. What a color-addicted dork! lol

I haven't really used Friendship Preserves all that much but I thought it worked well with the sketch and colors. It stamps so nicely when colored with markers too!  For my flowers at the top I first pressed them into my Baja Breeze ink pad and then Rich Razzleberry.  I love adding color to these flowers. They are so gorgeous!  I really hope they carry over into the next catalog. It is nice that they are all joined so you can use a strip of them or cut them apart.  The twine at the bottom is a strip I cut from the Natural Cotton ribbon and pulled the fibers apart. I used some on another card earlier this week and had this extra lying on my table and thought it looked to nice to throw it away. :)

  1. Lol! I recently resolved to do the same! I would finish my card, write down all my supplies and rush off to photograph it only to come back later to a mess! I know enjoy the fact that I can come back to a clean desk and start fresh on a new card without first cleaning up the remnants from the last one. So far so good for me.....we'll see how long I can keep it up! I love all your stuff, Shanna and this card is no exception!

  2. Shana, I often times say "pull out that Friendship Preserves set and use it" but it doesn't get used enough. Thanks for sharing this card - I'm inspired to use mine now. Thanks for playing along with The Paper Players this week.
