The Stamp Review Crew: Watercolor Wings Edition

Welcome to The Stamp Review Crew blog hop: Watercolor Wings Edition! I have been looking forward to this hop since I first saw Watercolor Wings in the new catalog. I am in LOVE with this set and cannot wait to see what everyone has created!

My favorite thing about this set is that it requires absolutely no coloring, which I am not that great at. :) The different layers of the butterflies allow you to create beautifully detailed butterflies by simply stamping!

Here are the first two cards I have made with this set. In my opinion, the two sets of butterfly framelits that we have in the catalog are a must to coordinate with the stamp set. Even if you don't want to cut out your butterflies, the detailed framelit butterflies look fabulous layered over the top of the stamped images!

Thanks for hopping along with us this week! Click on the links below to continue on with the hop!

  1. This is a dynamic duo, Shanna! I love the background on your first card. Your layered trio of butterflies look amazing on the second card.

  2. I love how this set can create such different (and still beautiful) looks! Wonderful colors and details on both!

  3. Ooh two gorgeous cards and two different looks! Just stunning! Rochelle xo

  4. Love the watercolor-y background on the first one! And the layers of texture on second :)

  5. Great cards Shanna! The top one is my favourite though. LOVING that background!

  6. Both beautiful Shana and yet so totally different. I'm loving your gorgeous background panel on the top card, such a fab inky effect!

  7. Awesome Cards!!! I love that watercolor background that is so cool! I love the background and colors on the second card.

  8. Absolutely beautiful cards, Shana! The background on the first card is stunning! Wow!

  9. WOW! Shana, you make it so hard to choose a favorite creation when both are so gorgeous! But i gravitate more to the purple one as it is more masculine - if butterflies could ever be considered masculine. How did you do the background technique?

    1. Thanks, Mike! I just inked up a large clear block, spritzed it with water and put my card stock on top of it. Very easy!

  10. How very pretty! Love the dramatic background on the first card and the soft textures of the second.

  11. Beautiful projects! I love, love the background on your first card! It matches the watercolor quality of the stamp set perfectly.

  12. What beautiful cards, Shana! They are both unique and creative. Love the way you layer your butterflies.
