Addicted to Flowers!

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More! our challenge is flowers!  This one was an easy one for me because I LOVE making flowers.  Plus, I got to work with some new goodies that came in today!  A win, win!  I decided to use this classy color combination from Pals Paper Arts this week:
PPA 146 Nov 1 2012Funny that I called it classy because that is what they called it on their website too!  Well, a classy color combo called for a classy card!
For the Crumb Cake flower, I used the biggest flower on the Fun Flowers Large Bigz Die.  I die cut three of them, spritzed them with water, crumpled them up, dried them with my heat tool, then hot glued them together.  I also spritzed them with some homemade shimmer spritz!  I made it inside the new Stampin' Spritzers that we sell by mixing rubbing alcohol (I could only find 50% but I hear that the higher the percentage, the faster the paper dries) with three drops of Crumb Cake ink refill and eight drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint. I am going to have to start stocking up on that stuff...the glimmer it adds to the Shimmer Spritz is amazing!  I did basically the same thing with the Riding Hood Red flowers, except I used five of the 1 1/8" Scallop Circle Punches for them.  The background is also spritzed with my Crumb Cake Shimmer Spritz.  I wanted a thin layer of Crumb Cake behind the Very Vanilla, but the Window Frames Framelit was a little too big, so I made my own with my 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  Pretty clever, huh? :)  I did have a square behind there too, but decided I liked the edges poking out a bit.

  1. Shana ... this is definitely a classy card! Love that color combo! Your flowers are beautiful ... love the different sizes. I can see a little of the shimmer on the large flower, but the rest don't show up on the photo. They are beautiful, but image the are GORGEOUS in real life. Love the way you improvised to make a frame for your large sentiment. Great idea!
