Caffeine Tones

I don't know much about caffeine because I don't drink coffee or very much pop!  But I do know that caffeine colors means chocolate!  I love Stampin' Up!'s shades of browns so I was really excited to work with the color palette at Color Me Beautiful this week.
In fact, I was so excited that I did two cards!  They both have the same background stamped in the different leaves with Gently Falling. This first one was then embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.
For the rosette, I used the new Early Espresso Scalloped Tulle Ribbon and rolled it around in a circle on the Jumbo Sticky Rounds. Super easy and how pretty is that?!  On my next card, I started with the same stamped background.
After I stamped the leaves, I embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, distressed it around the edges with my (retired...boo!) Cutter Kit (you can get a similar effect with the edges of your paper snips), and sponged River Rock and Soft Suede ink on top.  I love the effect and in person it looks like burlap which is SUPER popular in paper crafting right now!  The truck image is stamped in Early Espresso and then shadow-stamped with Basic Gray.  I spritzed it with water, crumpled it up and sponged it with ink to distress it as well.  I have a hard time with masculine cards but these colors worked perfectly for this one!

  1. Love the distressed and vintage look of both these cards. The neutral colors work perfectly together ... and the background stamped paper looks fabulous run through with an embossing folder - so much texture - LOVE IT!
