Election Night Blogging

Brett is determined to stay up all night until we have a president, so I guess I am in for the long haul tonight!  I keep telling him it might not even happen tonight, but he is dedicated!  I have already chewed off all of my fingernails and it's only 7:30!  As much as I would love to go into my stamp room and work on my swaps, I don't have a television in there so blogging it is!  I worked on a Christmas card today using the challenge at Black Tie Fridays and the sketch at Just Add Ink.
The challenge at BTF's is to choose one square from each row (not a tic-tac-toe).  I chose twine, green and rectangle base.  I didn't even think about the black until right now!  Phew!  I checked and it was optional.  Good thing!
I started with the DSP from the Festival of Prints DSP Stack. I was going to cut out a Very Vanilla window and put it over the DSP, but then I thought "Hey, I can save my DSP by cutting the window out of it and putting the Very Vanilla cardstock behind it!"  Now I have a DSP window to use on another card!  And don't you just love how the window coordinates with the pattern in the DSP?!  I know I am going to love using this DSP on my Christmas cards.  I don't feel nearly as bad cutting into it as I do a full sheet of 12x12. :)  Hard to tell from the pic, but the Very Vanilla cardstock is embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder. I thought it needed some texture with all that flat DSP!  The ornaments are colored with Stampin' Write Markers and die cut with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits.  I just love all of the Framelits Stampin' Up! has now.  They make my life so much easier!  The two outside ornaments are on one layer of Dimensionals, while the middle ornament is on two layers of Dimensionals to make it pop up more.
