Frost!

I could not believe how white it looked outside when I woke up this morning!  The kids thought it had snowed. :)  It is days like these that I am thankful I have a garage...especially since the heat in my van is not working!  Granted, I only have to be in my van for about 15 minutes when I go pick up the kids from the bus stop, but still!

Today's card features the color combination from The Play Date Cafe and the technique of emboss resist from Stampin' Royalty
The suggested colors are cinnamon, squash, vanilla and sage.  I used Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke to get a similar look.
For my background, I embossed En Francais with Peppermint Sticks Embossing Powder.  I didn't have any clear left and this is clear so it works!  I then sponged on the color and removed the excess with a tissue.  The leaf is sponged, stamped with the water droplets from French Foliage, spritzed with water, crumpled, then sponged with Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink to give it a frost look.  Oh, I also drew in veins with my stylus and then drew back over the lines with my Cajun Craze Stampin' Write marker.  It is hard to tell because it is so dark, but I also used the stylus to add some diagonal texture to the top of the acorn and it is popped up on a Dimensional.  I tried to crop it and lighten it up a bit so you could get a better look!
