I knew right away that I wanted to use my new Expressions thinlits from the Holiday Catalog for my sentiment. This was my first try at them, and it went surprisingly well. I had read that it is best to put a piece of wax paper between your cardstock and the thinlit, and that worked perfectly for me. I used a toothpick to easily poke the cardstock out of the thinlit. I even saved the wax paper word in case I want to use it on a project. It is very fragile, so I better do that soon. :)
This is one of those cards that I would probably just hand to someone instead of squishing into an envelope, because the sentiment DOES hang over each side of the card. I could have angled it more to fit it all on the card, but I preferred it like this. After I colored my poppies I added some Dazzling Details for a little bit of glossy effect. I am down to the bottom of the bottle, so it looks more like Crystal Effects than the normal glittery look, which I'm okay with. Might as well use up every little drop!

ReplyDeletewow Shana, the sentiment worked out perfectly and great job for your first go. I really like that it hangs over the sides. The poppies are coloured fab and the gloss look just right x

ReplyDeleteHi Shana, LOVE your poppies and that diecut sentiment! Sue x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Shana. The black sentiment looks stunning. Y'know I have just had some poppies and corn dies. I have tried so many times, with different card, with out success, to cut them out. They break every time. Really disappointing. I will try some wax paper and see if that works. thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Flo x
