I am exhausted!

Well, this weekend has certainly been a weekend of labor for me!  We decided to clean out one closet and ended up cleaning out EVERY SINGLE ROOM in our house!  We took two truck-loads full to Goodwill and have at least three huge garbage bins full of trash to get rid of.  Normally I would have said "This is good stuff. Let's keep it and have a garage sale."  Not this time!  I am OVER keeping things and want to start off fresh!  But I am exhausted!  I didn't get to craft all weekend. :(  BOO! Luckily, I got a lot of cards made last week and had this one to post for a challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  Here were the beautiful colors we were given to work with this week:

2012 Create Challenges-032

I was really excited when I saw these colors because I think they make great halloween colors and I have been having a lot of fun using my new stamp set, Googly Ghouls.  As I said before, this is my first halloween stamp set EVER, so I want to get as much use out of it as possible!

I first started with the strip of three characters.  They are stamped with Black StazOn ink on Watercolor Paper so I could easily color them in with my Blender Pens.  I stamped that whole strip with the blotches from French Foliage in Lucky Limeade, stamped off so it was a little lighter.  I wanted the little mummy to really stand out, so I stamped him once again and cut him out, then popped him up on two layers of Dimensionals.  For the background, I first thought I wanted to do some pennants.  They are EVERYWHERE though, so I decided to use the Apothecary Accents Framelits instead.  After I cut them out, I lined them up together in the Chevron Embossing Folder so the zig-zags would line up perfectly (yes, a little bit of OCD here :).  The ribbon was added as an afterthought.  I thought it needed a little something to separate the characters from the sentiment.  I like how it hangs off the edge of the card.  I don't do that often enough!  It can be tucked under to fit in a standard-sized envelope, so why not?
