Now that I have been what I refer to as "skinny me" for several years now, it is time to get some new clothes! During my cleaning spree last weekend, I emptied out everything in my closet that I haven't worn in the past year. To Goodwill it all went! I had an amazing coupon for NY&Co a few weeks ago and Brett helped me pick out quite a few very stylish outfits. Along with that came $90 in City Cash to go back and spend. That means I can spend $90 and get $90 in free merchandise. Very tempting, but it is still another $90 that I have to spend, so I thought I would probably just pass it up. Well, to my surprise, last night Brett says "Are we still going to NY&Co Friday night?" HUH?! Never in a million years did I think he would remember that I had this "cash" to spend OR that he would be encouraging me to spend it! My calm response was "Oh, we don't need to be spending any extra money right now." His response? "Let's go. There might be something that we NEED. And besides, I love watching you try on clothes." Well, if you say so, honey. :)
In honor of shopping tonight, I decided to make a card!
Less is More has one of my favorite color combinations this week, pink and brown. Perfect for a shopping card!
To get the graduated pinks, I masked off both sides of my cardstock with a sheet of computer paper. Then I picked up ink with sponges and rubbed it from one side to the the other in straight lines. They blended so nicely together and I love the results! This is one of my favorite techniques for making a quick yet stunning card.
Stamp Set: Carry On
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Chocoalte Chip, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Primrose Petals
Tools: 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch (LOVE this little guy!), 1" Circle Punch, Sponges
Accessories: Basic Rhinestones
Super card Shana, I love the graduated colour and what luck to have a pro-shopping husband!
